**STATOS-AGIOS FOTIOS, Paphos –** In a charming initiative designed to imbue the Cypriot countryside with seasonal spirit, the picturesque mountain village of Statos-Agios Fotios has proudly launched its maiden Christmas Village festival. This ambitious undertaking, supported by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and orchestrated in collaboration with the Paphos Development Company “Afroditi,” seeks to cultivate a truly enchanting Yuletide atmosphere, offering a vibrant new destination for festive celebrations throughout the region.

The transformation of the village's community park is nothing short of remarkable. Gone are the usual pastoral scenes, replaced by a whimsical wonderland adorned with dazzling decorations, resonant festive music, and a captivating interplay of lights. At the heart of this transformation are numerous wooden chalets, meticulously arranged to create an immersive experience for visitors. These charming stalls are brimming with an array of local artisanal products, from handcrafted gifts to the warming embrace of mulled wine and an assortment of traditional Cypriot sweets, promising a sensory delight for all who attend.

Organisers have meticulously curated a programme of family-friendly activities and events, ensuring that the Statos-Agios Fotios Christmas Village caters to a diverse audience. Recognising the importance of inclusivity, a dedicated playground area has been established, providing a safe and engaging space for younger visitors to revel in the festive spirit. This thoughtful addition underscores the organisers' overarching ambition to craft a magical Christmas experience that resonates with people of all ages, fostering a sense of shared joy and community.

The establishment of this inaugural festival represents a significant step for Statos-Agios Fotios, signalling a commitment to both economic vitality and rural development. The Community Council has played an instrumental role in preparing the village for this grand occasion, undertaking crucial improvements and beautification projects to ensure the highest standards are met. The collaborative efforts between the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the Paphos Development Company “Afroditi” highlight the strategic importance placed on this venture, aiming to bolster the local economy and unlock new avenues for growth within the village. As the organisers aptly stated, "The project supports the local economy and brings development opportunities to the village."

The festival is scheduled to enchant visitors through the early days of January, with specific operating hours designed to accommodate a wide range of schedules. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, the village will be open from 11:00 to 19:00. Special extended hours are in place for Fridays, December 12 and 19, from 10:00 to 19:00, while a daily schedule of 11:00 to 19:00 will run from December 22, 2025, to January 6, 2026.
