Luxury Cars Destroyed in Cyprus Arson Attack

A shocking arson attack in the city of Limassol, Cyprus, has completely destroyed several luxury cars. The vehicles were worth more than 1.5 million euros. Authorities are now investigating whether this crime is connected to the recent murder of a football agent, Stavros Demosthenous.

The carefully planned attack happened late on Thursday night in a private parking area in the Mouttagiaka district. A person dressed in black entered the fenced lot and poured a flammable liquid, likely petrol, over the expensive cars. A private security guard saw the intruder and tried to stop them. However, the fire was started and the person escaped. The huge fire sent black smoke into the sky and destroyed four cars: a Lamborghini, a Mercedes, a Porsche, and a Tesla.

Police Assistant Director Lefteris Kyriakou confirmed the details. He said the investigation is looking at all possible motives. One important clue is that two of the burned cars belonged to a foreign businessman. This man was a close friend of the murdered football agent, Demosthenous. Because of this connection, police are seriously considering a link between the two crimes, although it is not yet proven. Many people believe the arson was a deliberate warning from criminals.

A few hours after the main fire, another car was set on fire in a different part of Limassol. This car belonged to a 20-year-old, and police are checking if the two incidents are related. Investigators now have security camera footage and forensic evidence from the scene. The police face two big tasks: to find the bold arsonist and to understand if this attack is part of a larger conflict between organized crime groups in the city. The event has increased worries about criminal activity in Limassol.
