Cyprus Prepares for a Weekend of Diverse Christmas Celebrations

Nicosia, December 2025 – This weekend, the island of Cyprus will be full of Christmas spirit as three different events happen at the same time. Each one has its own special character and purpose. From a traditional village market in the mountains to the grand Presidential Palace and a friendly city meet-up for pets, people in the Larnaca and Nicosia areas will have many chances to enjoy the season. All three events are planned for December 13th and 14th, showing a clear effort to mix tradition, charity, and community during the Christmas period.

The celebrations are spread out across different locations and themes. In the beautiful mountain village of Vavla in Larnaca, a classic Christmas Bazaar will bring the central square to life. Visitors can find handmade gifts and local food, while listening to carols and smelling warm seasonal wine. The event will also include carefully organized workshops on local crafts, but people must register in advance to join them.

Meanwhile, in the capital, the important Presidential Palace will open for its yearly Christmas Village. The palace gardens will become a center for Cypriot creativity, with stalls run by local artists and food producers. This event has a strong charitable purpose, as part of the money raised will go to the Welfare Fund of the School for the Deaf.

At the same time, not far away at Eleftherias Square, a more modern event called “Xmas Santa Paws” will take place. It is designed to include family pets in the holiday fun. The gathering will offer photo sessions with Saint Nicholas, children’s storytelling, and an awareness campaign by an animal charity promoting responsible pet adoption.

Together, these simultaneous events are more than just holiday entertainment. They support local economies by helping small businesses and artists. They also raise money for good causes and increase public awareness about social issues like disability support and animal welfare. By opening the Presidential Palace to everyone, the celebrations also create a feeling of inclusion and community. This festive weekend promises to combine joy, tradition, and a thoughtful spirit for all.
