Concurrently, he is participating in crucial discussions at the European Council summit, demonstrating a dual focus on national and continental priorities. His itinerary prominently features pivotal meetings with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, underscoring Nicosia’s unwavering commitment to maintaining international attention on the peace process.
The Cypriot President’s visit is multifaceted, encompassing direct engagement on the island’s protracted division and broader European policy debates. A central element will be his scheduled dialogue with Secretary-General Guterres, an encounter viewed in Nicosia as a positive affirmation of Guterres’ ongoing dedication to facilitating a resolution.
