Search for Russian Businessman Intensifies in Cyprus

A big search is happening on the southern coast of Cyprus. Police and volunteers are looking for Vladislav Baumgertner, a 56-year-old Russian businessman. He was last seen leaving his home in Limassol on January 7th. People could not reach him by phone. This caused a large search to start.

The search is focused on the Pissouri area. This part of the coast is very steep and difficult. Baumgertner’s phone last sent a signal here. This information helps guide the search teams. Special teams began searching on Saturday. A helicopter and drones joined the search on Sunday.

However, a big storm stopped the search. The bad weather made it unsafe to continue. The search is expected to restart on Monday morning. This pause might help the teams search the area better.

Baumgertner is about 1.90 meters tall. He has grey hair and a slim body. He was last seen in a black T-shirt and black shorts. Police are investigating why he disappeared. An employee could not contact him, so a missing person report was made.

Baumgertner has a history that is being considered. He was arrested in Belarus in 2013. This was a famous event. Many police and volunteers are helping the search. They all want to find the missing businessman. The storm caused worry, but everyone is still trying hard to find him.
