US Vice President Highlights Greenland's Defence Role

US Vice President JD Vance recently spoke about Greenland's important role. He said it is key for American and world defence. This is especially true because of missile threats from Russia and China. Vance also criticized Denmark and other European nations. He thinks they are not doing enough to improve Greenland's security. He also felt they did not fully support President Trump's ideas on this issue. At the same time, the White House is talking about buying Greenland. Greenland is a Danish territory but has some self-rule.

Greenland's location is very important for US foreign policy. Vance explained that Greenland helps with early warning systems. These systems detect missile launches. They also monitor ships in the Arctic. Vance said, "The missile defence system partly depends on Greenland." The US has a military base in Greenland. This base works under agreements with Denmark. Denmark is a NATO ally. The idea of the US buying Greenland was mentioned before by President Trump. This idea made Denmark worried. They said it could harm the NATO alliance.

This new focus on Greenland's defence is part of bigger changes. These changes are influenced by President Trump's "America First" idea. The US has left many international groups and agreements. The White House said this helps focus on US interests. They believe some groups waste money. They also think these groups focus too much on global issues. This includes leaving climate change agreements. This worries scientists about future US climate research.

In other news, President Trump spoke about Iran. He said he will not meet Reza Pahlavi. Pahlavi calls himself the Crown Prince of Iran. Trump said it is not right for him as president to meet someone who might lead Iran. This shows the US will not support any one opposition leader. This keeps future diplomatic options open. It also avoids affecting Iran's internal politics.

Trump also warned Iran again. He threatened action if Iran hurts its own citizens. People are protesting in Iran. The US has said before that it will act if Iran uses too much force. Trump's comments show the US is watching for stability and human rights. This is happening in many places around the world.
