Cyprus Faces Unusual Week of Incidents

Several strange events happened in Cyprus this week. There was a big explosion and two car fires. Police are investigating all of them. One event is seen as a crime. The other two might be accidents.

Early Tuesday, a loud explosion happened in Limassol. It was in the Mesa Yeitonia area. The explosion hit the offices of a money company. This happened after 3 am. Someone used a firework with petrol. It exploded at the company's door. The explosion broke the company's windows. People in nearby homes felt the shock. Police think someone tried to destroy property. They are looking at cameras. They hope to find a suspect. They want to know why it happened.

On Monday, a car caught fire in Engomi. It was outside a car shop. The fire department came quickly. Employees tried to stop the fire. Two fire trucks put out the fire. The front of the car was badly damaged. Police do not think it was a crime. A problem with the car's engine is the likely reason.

Another car fire happened in Ayia Napa on Monday. This car burned completely. It was in a parking lot for an apartment building. The owner and neighbours helped to stop the fire. Experts think an electrical problem caused the fire. It was probably a short circuit. Arson is not suspected. These events show the work police and firefighters do. They keep people safe in Cyprus.
