US Captures Venezuelan President Maduro

United States forces took action on Saturday. They captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. The leaders were then sent to New York. They now face charges related to drugs.

A stronger naval blockade is also in place. This strategy aims to stop the Maduro government's oil money. Reports say a third oil tanker is being watched. The US wants Venezuela to have a safe change in leadership. This action has caused international shock. Oil prices have also gone up.

This move by the US shows a tougher position on Venezuela's oil. The US is looking at different ways to stop ships. They are using ships and planes near certain vessels. President Trump has said military conflict is possible. The US wants to isolate the Maduro government. They want to cut off its main income.

These actions have many effects worldwide. The price of US oil rose on Monday. This is because people are unsure about oil supply. Venezuela's oil, even though less, is still important.

Other countries have different reactions. The UK is not being soft on Maduro's government. However, Russia and China strongly disagree. They call the operation aggression. Iran says it breaks international law.

Latin American countries are also against this. Brazil's President warned of violence. Colombia's President called it an attack on sovereignty. Chile's President wants a peaceful solution.

Venezuelan opposition leaders see a possible way forward. Maria Corina Machado might open the oil sector to private companies. This could mean selling parts of the state oil company. This might bring foreign money to rebuild oil systems. It depends on a big change in how Venezuela is run. The future of this US plan is not yet clear.
