Cyprus University Announces New Equality Plan

The Cyprus University of Technology, or CUT, has a new plan for equality. This plan is for the years 2025 to 2028. It aims to make equality, diversity, and inclusion very important at the university. This is a big step forward from older plans. The university wants these ideas to be part of everything they do.

This new plan took many years to create. It grew from earlier plans about equal access for people with disabilities. Constantia Kousoulou is in charge of this work. She said that equality and inclusion are not separate things. They are important values for all parts of the university. This shows a change in how the university thinks about these important topics.

The plan has five main parts. These parts will help with many different inclusion challenges. They will help create a culture that supports equality. They will also provide good support for people with disabilities. The plan also ensures fair chances for people to grow in their careers. It includes gender and accessibility in research and teaching. The university will not allow bullying, discrimination, or harassment.

CUT has always tried to include these ideas. The university's main plan includes equality, diversity, and inclusion as important goals. This has helped them create many policies. The University Equality Committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Office help put these policies into action. They also organize awareness events for everyone at the university.

CUT's work in this area helps everyone. It makes the university a better place to be. It also helps the public talk about human rights and equal chances. This shows CUT is a modern university. It cares about its social duty and creating a fairer future.
