Cyprus has given its "Golden Raspberry" award to the government. This award is for the government's handling of a big wildfire. This award is given to show mistakes.
The "Golden Raspberry" ceremony happens every year. It is to make fun of bad actions. This year, the government got the award. It was for the wildfire in the Limassol mountains last July.
The fire was very bad. It destroyed about 130 square kilometres of land. Around 700 homes were damaged. The cost was about €120 million. Sadly, two people died in the fire.
There are other problems for Cyprus too. The European Court of Human Rights made a ruling. It was about an Assistant Attorney General. The court looked at how a rape complaint was handled.
The court suggested that stereotypes were used. It also said the woman was hurt again. The Attorney General was also criticised. Some people think he protected others.
Also, the police closed a motorway. This was to help hunters. It caused big problems for many drivers.
Internationally, the United States wants to buy Greenland. President Trump thinks Greenland is important. Denmark has said no. The Prime Minister of Denmark said this idea makes no sense. The US has no right to take any part of the Danish kingdom.
