A big fire happened in Paphos on Saturday, January 3, 2026. It started early in the morning. A lorry, trailer, and car were burning in an industrial area. Police believe this fire might have been started on purpose. Michalis Nikolaou from the Paphos police said flammable material was used. This makes the police more suspicious of arson. Firefighters put out the fire. The vehicles were ruined.
On Friday, January 2, 2026, another fire caused damage in Larnaca. In the village of Avdellero, an outhouse near a church burned. The outhouse fell down. The items inside were also damaged. Andreas Kettis from the Fire Brigade said they do not know the cause yet.
