The new Attorney General and Deputy took their jobs early. This shows the government wants to improve the justice system. President Anastasiades spoke to the new leaders. He said they must be honest and have strong legal knowledge. These qualities are needed for good government. They are also needed to protect people's rights. The President said they are independent state officials. He also said outside help in their work is not allowed. This will help justice be fair for everyone.

These appointments are happening after the old Attorney General resigned. The quick appointments show a plan to make the office strong again. The President wants the office to be more efficient. He wants legal cases to be finished faster. This is important for the justice system to work well. It will also respect the law.

Also, teachers are looking at new laws. The POED met on December 30. They looked at information about a new teacher evaluation bill. This bill will check how teachers are doing. It will also check how well education is working. POED will meet again on January 8. Then they will decide their official position. What they decide could change how teachers are evaluated in the future.
