Cyprus is Good at Using EU Funds

Cyprus is one of the best countries in the European Union at using money it receives from the group. It is now in fourth place among all EU members for using its funds for the year 2025. A special committee met on Friday and confirmed that the country has met all its money-spending goals.

This success shows that Cyprus is becoming very good at managing large and complex projects paid for by the EU. This money helps the country work on its own important development plans.

Cyprus has a strong record of using this money well. A committee leader said that the country also used all its funds in the last financial period, from 2014 to 2020. This consistent success suggests that the government has learned how to manage these processes effectively.

The money is being used for important changes. It is helping to pay for new renewable energy projects, a shift to a greener economy, and solutions for water security. The funds are also used to fight unemployment and poverty by investing in social programs. These goals match both EU priorities and Cyprus's own needs as an island.

At the meeting, people saw examples of these projects. These included plans to turn an old stadium in Nicosia into a green park and to improve job training schools. These projects show a focus on both improving buildings and helping people gain new skills.

Cyprus is already planning how to use the next round of funds from 2028. Its growing skill in managing this money could make it a good example for other EU countries that find it difficult.
