Nigerian Schoolchildren Freed After Kidnapping

A group of 130 schoolchildren have been released from captivity in Niger state, Nigeria. They were taken from St. Mary's Catholic school. This is good news for many families. It means everyone taken from the Papiri community is now safe. People feel very relieved. However, Nigeria still has many security problems.

The children were kidnapped in November. This happened in central Nigeria. This area often has problems with armed gangs. Some extremist groups also operate there. A first group of 50 children escaped quickly. However, people worried about the other students. Later, 100 students were freed. This gave everyone hope. Now, the last group is also free.

These kidnappings are part of Nigeria's big security issues. Many groups cause trouble in the country. Some are gangs who steal things. Others are groups with strong beliefs. They often kidnap people for money. Schoolchildren are easy targets. These groups are armed and dangerous.

The government helped free all the students. We do not know exactly how they did it. The people who did the kidnapping have not been caught. This is often the case. The Christian Association of Nigeria said 315 people were taken. Now, all of them are back safely.

The children will soon see their families again. They will go to Minna, the capital of Niger state. This event shows Nigeria's security problems. It is the second big kidnapping in Nigeria recently. It is also the second in Niger state in four years. This shows violence is increasing. The country needs to work harder to solve these problems.
