Violent Attack Shocks Taiwan

A very sad event happened in Taiwan on Friday. A man used a knife in the capital city. This kind of violence is not common there. The attack started at a busy train station. Three people sadly died. Nine other people were hurt. The attacker was 27-year-old Chang Wen. He was a former volunteer in the air force. He died after falling from a building.

The attack happened during the evening rush hour. It began at Taipei Main Station. Then the attacker moved towards a shopping area. People were scared and tried to run away. Some videos online show the panic. The attacker used knives. He may have also used something to start fires.

Officials said it was a planned attack. The Premier of Taiwan agreed. They are still trying to understand why Chang Wen did this. He had a criminal record before. He also did not report for military service. This makes the situation very serious.

Taiwan usually has very little violent crime. This attack is very surprising. The government has promised more security. The President said they will be tough on threats. This event has made people feel less safe. They need to think about security again.

Help arrived quickly for the injured people. Some people were very brave. One person tried to stop the attacker. They sadly died. Police are still investigating. They want to know if anyone else was involved. They are also helping the victims and their families.
