UN Calls for Aid Access to Gaza

The United Nations General Assembly has asked Israel to allow help into Gaza. Many countries are worried about the situation. The resolution also asks for an end to attacks on UN places. It says everyone must follow international law. This happened after a court opinion. A winter storm also made things worse for people in Gaza.

Most countries, 139, voted for the resolution. Twelve countries, like Israel and the USA, voted against it. Nineteen countries did not vote. Norway led this effort. They used the court's findings. Norway said civilians are suffering the most. They also said humanitarian rules are being ignored.

This important event happens during a bad time for people. A big storm brought rain and wind. It caused more problems in Gaza. Fourteen people died because of the storm. Some buildings fell down. Cold weather killed babies. This shows how vulnerable people are.

Doctors see more deaths from the cold. One grandfather told a sad story. His baby grandson died. The mother was very upset. The storm is a danger to about 850,000 people. They live in temporary shelters. The bad weather is very dangerous for them.

The UN resolution is not a law. However, it puts pressure on Israel. It shows that countries want to follow international law. The UN Secretary-General said living conditions in Gaza are terrible.

The UN action and the storm show a big problem. The world is asking for changes. The situation for people in Gaza is very difficult. The resolution asks Israel to help with aid. The future for people in Gaza is uncertain.
