Hospital Destroyed in Myanmar Attack

A hospital in western Myanmar was destroyed by an air attack at night. This was one of the worst attacks on civilian buildings since the conflict started. At least 34 people died. The attack happened Wednesday in Mrauk-U town. The hospital was controlled by the Arakan Army. The scene was very sad.

Military planes dropped bombs on the hospital. This happened after 9:00 PM. The Arakan Army said ten patients died in their beds. Other reports say at least 34 people died. Many more were hurt. Pictures show the hospital was completely ruined. Buildings fell down. Beds were broken in the rubble. The roof was torn off.

The fighting in Myanmar is getting worse. The military took power in 2021. They are trying to take back areas lost to ethnic groups. The Arakan Army is strong in Rakhine State. The military is using its air force more. Critics say this shows they do not care about civilians. The attack is also sensitive because an election is planned soon.

Khaing Thukha from the Arakan Army strongly condemned the attack. He called it a "vicious attack by the terrorist military." He said the government must be responsible. The military government has not commented. Some pro-military channels say they only target fighters. They suggest civilian deaths are accidents.

This attack is a serious event. It is a possible war crime to attack a hospital. This makes the humanitarian crisis worse. Millions have left their homes. Damaged hospitals mean less care for the sick. This attack shows the military is targeting civilian areas. The conflict continues with no solution. The world is asking for the government to be held accountable.
