Cyprus is about to have a big change in its weather. A weather system called "Adel" will end a period of very warm weather. This weekend, the island will get rain, thunderstorms, and cooler temperatures.
This change is very different from the weather now. On Friday and most of Saturday, the sky will be partly cloudy and a bit dusty. The temperatures will stay much warmer than normal for this time of year. Inland and on the coast, it will be 25-26°C, and in the mountains around 16°C.
However, this good weather will not last. By Saturday afternoon, more clouds will appear. This will bring some rain and thunderstorms, first in the west and north, and then to other areas. The bad weather will get stronger in the evening, and there could even be hail.
The biggest change will come on Sunday. The weather system will have its full effect, and temperatures will drop a lot. There will be more local rain and some thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoons. This will make the weather feel more normal for the season. The changeable weather will continue into Monday, with clouds and some rain.
The rain on Saturday afternoon will clean the dust from the air, which is good news. The wind will be light to moderate, coming from the north-east and south-east. People going to the sea should know that the water will be a bit rough, especially in the east.
This new weather shows how spring in the Eastern Mediterranean can change quickly. It ends a long time of unusual warmth and brings back more typical weather for the start of the new week.
