Nicosia is getting ready for the second Claytopia festival. This event celebrates Cyprus's old ceramic traditions. Tochka ceramics studio and the Cyprus Handicraft Service are organizing it. It will happen at the Polydinamo Dimotiko Kentro. Thirty-five artists will show their skills. They will do live demonstrations and have a market. There will also be workshops. The festival wants to show how important ceramics are to Cyprus.

This event helps keep a very old craft alive. Cyprus is famous for its ceramics. The Kornos Red Clay Pottery is recognized by UNESCO. This is important cultural heritage. Claytopia is more than just a market. It helps preserve this important tradition. Maria Anaxagora from the Cyprus Handicraft Service said, "Ceramics is one of the oldest arts of Cyprus. It is an important part of our history." She also said, "We are proud of our artists. We support this event."

The festival is on December 13th. Visitors can buy ceramic art from the artists. Live demonstrations will show how artists work. You can see how they make large pots and other items. Some artists will even work blindfolded. This shows their strong connection to the clay. There will be workshops for children too. They can try the pottery wheel and make clay ornaments.

Claytopia also helps local ceramists. It gives them a place to sell their work. It also helps them share knowledge. Tatiana Vasilyeva, who started Tochka Studio, said, "Knowledge must be shared. It is important for crafts." She added, "Claytopia is a place to exchange ideas and learn." This helps the tradition continue and grow.
