European Leaders Work to Support Ukraine in Peace Talks

European leaders say this is a very important time in the war. They are working together to support Ukraine. This comes as talks about an American peace plan have stopped. The main problem is about land that Russia has taken.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is visiting many European capitals this week. He met with leaders in London and Brussels. He wants to make sure Ukraine's allies continue to help. This is especially important after some critical comments from the American president.

The discussions are about a US peace plan from last November. Last week, Ukrainian officials talked about this plan in Florida. Reports say the plan asked Ukraine to remove its soldiers from some eastern areas. President Zelensky says Ukraine has its own version of the plan now, with fewer points. He said, "The Americans want to find a compromise. But there are still difficult problems about the land."

Russia says it sees changes in the West's position. A Russian spokesman said the new American ideas are closer to Russia's views in some ways. This makes the situation more complicated for Ukraine's allies.

For now, the peace talks are stuck. Ukraine says it will not give away any of its official land, and Europe agrees. So, European countries are planning to send more military and money to Ukraine. They want to make Ukraine stronger, both in the war and in the negotiations. President Zelensky's trips are trying to keep this support strong during a very difficult time.
