Luxury Cars Burned in Limassol Attack

A fire was deliberately set in a rich area of Limassol, destroying four very expensive cars. The cars were worth more than €1.5 million. One of them was a Lamborghini. This event is making people worried about a growing fight between criminal groups. This is because a local businessman was murdered recently.

The attack happened late on Wednesday night in the Mouttagiaka area. A person wearing a black hooded jacket was seen on security cameras. This person entered a private parking area and used a flammable liquid, probably petrol, to set the cars on fire. A security guard saw what happened and tried to chase the person, but the suspect ran away before the fire grew. Firefighters were called just before midnight. A few hours later, a different car was on fire in another part of Limassol, but the police do not know if the two events are connected.

The police are looking for a possible link to the murder of a 49-year-old businessman, Stavros Demosthenous, on October 17th. One of the owners of the burned cars was a close friend and business partner of the murdered man. This makes people think the fire was a deliberate warning in an ongoing conflict.

However, the police are being careful. A senior police officer said they are looking at all possibilities, but they do not yet have proof that connects the car fire to the murder. He confirmed that they have collected evidence and are checking the car insurance details.

The murder case is very complicated. Six people have been arrested, and four of them will go on trial in January. This new car fire has made people in the city nervous. They are worried that the violence from the murder is not over, and the police are now trying to find the person who set the cars on fire.
