Peace efforts in Sudan are facing big problems. The terrible civil war is getting worse. Attacks on places where people live are happening more often. This causes a lot of suffering.

Diplomats from the United States are trying hard to help. They want to stop the fighting. However, the two main groups, the SAF and the RSF, are still fighting. The United Nations says Sudan has the worst humanitarian crisis. Millions of people have left their homes. Many have sadly died.

The war started in April 2023. It began after an agreement failed. Now, the whole country is in chaos. Recently, people who are not fighting have been attacked. A kindergarten was bombed, and many children died. Attacks on important places like border crossings make it hard to get help to people.

International talks have not worked well. The United States is trying to get a ceasefire. But it has been difficult. Now, the US might put more sanctions on the groups fighting. Other countries are also involved. This makes things more complicated.

The number of people hurt is very high. Over fourteen million people are homeless. About forty thousand people have died. It is very hard for aid groups to reach everyone. This makes hunger and sickness worse. UNICEF said that attacking children in schools is a terrible violation of rights.

There is some hope for future talks. Norway will host meetings about a civilian government. However, outside help alone is not enough. Both fighting groups want to win by force. So, the suffering in Sudan will likely continue for some time.
