Cyprus is working hard to protect two special animals: the mouflon and the Griffon Vulture. These projects have money from the European Union. They use new technology and quick help for animals in danger. This is a complete plan for nature on the island.

The mouflon is a wild sheep that lives only in Cyprus. It is protected by law. There is a program to help them breed and then let them go into the wild. Forestry workers recently released eighteen mouflon. More than half of these animals have special satellite trackers. This technology will help scientists learn about the animals after they are released. This information will help plan for the future and manage the land. It can also help prevent wildfires.

At the same time, another important project is happening for the Griffon Vulture. This bird is in danger of disappearing from Cyprus. Vultures are being brought from Spain, where there are many of them. This will help start a new breeding group. The project needs to watch the birds and help them. Recently, a vulture that was released was saved. It had problems near the coast. After a rescue and six weeks of care, it was healthy again.

This saved vulture shows the project cares about each animal. Griffon Vultures used to live in the mountains. Now they live in wild areas. Scientists hope these efforts will help the birds return to their old homes. These projects show a strong wish to make nature healthy again. They protect Cyprus's unique animals. Using science and quick rescue plans makes conservation work well. Many groups are working together. This gives hope for the island's animals.
