President Christodoulides of Cyprus made important changes in his government. He chose six new ministers to bring new energy. However, this caused a big problem with the Edek party. Edek is an important part of the government coalition. This disagreement makes the government seem less stable.

The president announced the changes last week. Four new people are now in important jobs. These include ministers for Labour, Justice, and Health. These new ministers do not have experience as ministers before. This shows the president wants new ideas. The new ministers officially started their jobs on Monday.

But the Edek party is not happy. They only kept the Ministry of Agriculture. Edek feels this is not fair. They said they did not feel respected. They thought they would have more important roles. This is surprising because people thought Edek's minister might lose her job.

The leader of Edek, Nikos Anastasiou, said he was disappointed. He said, "We expected the president to see Edek in a better way." Edek had a special meeting to discuss their relationship with the government. Edek has left coalitions before when they were unhappy. This made people worry about the government's future.

However, Nikos Anastasiou said Edek will not leave the coalition now. This means the government still has enough support. He wants to talk to President Christodoulides. They will meet soon to discuss the party's complaints. This situation shows there are tensions in the government. The government must work hard to stay stable.
