Norwegian Woman Found Dead in Cyprus Apartment

A 49-year-old Norwegian woman was found dead in her apartment in Paralimni on Thursday afternoon. The police are now investigating and say her death is "unexplained." They found the woman shortly before 2:00 PM after she had been out of contact for about a day.

A friend discovered her. The friend was worried because the woman did not go to a planned surgery at a hospital. The friend entered the apartment using the balcony. Inside, the woman was found dead in the bathroom.

The police say the apartment was in a state of chaos. They saw signs of a serious disturbance, with broken objects, especially in the bathroom. They also found bloodstains in other rooms, not just where the body was. Because of this, the police say they cannot rule out foul play. This means that another person might be involved in her death.

The woman’s name is not being released until her family is told. We know she had some health problems before this happened.

The police are being very careful and are not giving more information. They are still searching the apartment and collecting evidence. The next important step is a post-mortem examination. This will happen on Friday, and doctors will try to find out how she died. Their results will help the police decide if they should start a murder investigation. This case has drawn a lot of attention because a foreign woman died in such strange and troubling circumstances.
