Schoolyard Altercation Escalates, Prompting Police and Ministry Investigations in Paphos

A fight happened at a school in Paphos last Friday. A 13-year-old boy was hurt in the head. He needed to go to the hospital for treatment. The police and the Ministry of Education are investigating this serious event.

The fight started between two students. Then, the fathers of these students also argued. This made the situation much worse. The police are checking why the boy was hit by something. Education officials said this behaviour is not okay. They also mentioned that the other student had problems before.

The injured boy's father told the police about the argument. It began with words between his son and a 15-year-old girl. Then, the girl threw a stone. It hit the younger boy on the head. He was taken to the hospital. Doctors checked him. He had a small head injury. He was sent home after getting help.

Later that day, the fathers argued too. The 44-year-old father of the girl reportedly threatened the other father. This shows how hard it is for schools to manage students and parents. Education officials said this is a big problem.

The Ministry of Education strongly disagreed with the fight. They said the 15-year-old girl had two similar problems before. This means it is a repeated issue. It makes people wonder if the school's help is enough.

An education official asked parents to work with schools. He said parents should not be angry with teachers. Schools have problems that are harder to solve when parents are upset. The police investigation is still happening. The Ministry of Education is also looking into it. This event started a talk about school safety and how to solve problems. Everyone hopes this will not happen again.
