The powerful warship HMS Dragon has arrived in Cyprus. This ship is a Type 45 destroyer. Its arrival increases the United Kingdom's military strength in the Eastern Mediterranean. This is a response to problems in the region. A drone recently attacked a British air base in Cyprus. HMS Dragon will soon start working with Cyprus's defence forces. This shows the UK supports its territories and allies.
HMS Dragon is very good at defending against air attacks. It has special missile systems and radar. The ship arrived just weeks after the drone attack at RAF Akrotiri. This attack was a big reason for the UK's quick action. About 500 extra soldiers have also come to British bases in Cyprus. They will help with air defence.
