Ukraine War and Global Dangers

Ongoing wars cause much sadness. Recent events show how problems in different countries are connected. These problems also create new dangers for everyone.

In Ukraine, a drone attack killed two children. This shows the violence continues to harm people. Efforts to stop the war face problems. A dispute about an oil pipeline might stop important money from the European Union for Ukraine.

Ukraine's President Zelensky wants peace. He said, "It is important for all of us that diplomacy continues." He also asked, "Is Russia ready to end the war honestly?" These important talks are happening while peace talks are stopped. Other global problems, like conflicts in Iran, make things harder.

A big problem for EU money is a disagreement about the Druzhba oil pipeline. Ukraine, Hungary, and Slovakia are arguing. The pipeline has been broken since January. Ukraine thinks it needs six more weeks to fix it. However, Hungary and Slovakia do not want Russian oil. Hungary says Ukraine is delaying repairs on purpose. This disagreement puts a large EU loan package in danger.

Terrorism is also a problem around the world. Deaths from terrorism decreased by 28% in 2025. However, some areas saw more violence. Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo had more jihadist attacks. Nigeria saw 46% more deaths.

Western countries saw a huge increase in terrorism deaths. There were 57 deaths in 2025. Young people becoming extreme and individuals acting alone are reasons. The total number of attacks went down. This does not make us feel safe from new dangers.

In South Korea, a fire at a factory killed 14 people. Nearly 60 people were hurt. The fire spread very fast. Firefighters had trouble because of a dangerous chemical. The factory had about 170 workers. Investigations into safety rules are happening now.
