Cyprus has had very bad weather recently. Emergency services worked together to help. For the last day, the Fire Service dealt with many problems. Heavy rain and bad weather caused these issues. Traffic advice was given, especially in the mountains. Snow, ice, and thick fog made roads dangerous.
The weather office had warned people about storms. This warning was for Saturday. Bad weather has been in the area since March 21st. This weather will continue for a few days. This is why there has been so much disruption.
Many areas had bad weather. Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, and Paphos were affected. The Troodos mountains were hard to travel in. Roads to the highest parts had snow and ice. Fog made it difficult to see. Some roads needed snow chains or special cars. A landslide also blocked a road near a dam.
The Fire Service was ready for problems. They answered 25 calls. Five calls were about fires. Nineteen calls needed special help. Ten calls were because of the weather. Trees fell down and water needed pumping. Heavy rain caused floods in some places. Water had to be pumped from houses. Fallen trees were also a big danger.
The weather office said heavy rain was possible. It could be 35 to 50 millimetres each hour. Hail, sleet, and snow might fall on the highest mountains. Winds were strong. This made the sea rough. Temperatures were a little colder than usual. People are asked to be very careful when travelling.
