UK Allows US Attacks on Iran

The Middle East is a tense region. The United Kingdom has given the United States permission to use British bases. These bases can be used for attacks on Iranian missile sites. This is a big step. The conflict in the region is now in its fourth week. Western countries are becoming more involved. This makes people worried about a larger war. The UK Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, warned Iran. She said that more attacks on British property will not be accepted. This warning comes after a drone attack in Cyprus. The UK believes Iran used weapons for this attack.

The United States is also sending more military forces to the area. They have sent a large ship with many soldiers. This shows they are ready for action. Ukraine is also helping. They have sent soldiers to five Middle Eastern countries. Their job is to protect important places from drone attacks. Russia also uses drones. They get these drones from Iran.

The crisis started with Iranian missile attacks. These attacks hit ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The UK government says they are defending the region. They will now use British bases to stop Iran's missiles. This is to stop Iran's actions. It is also to help oil ships move freely. The UK also wants to answer Iran's attacks on other countries. When the conflict began, oil prices went up by about 50%.

Iran sees things differently. Iran says US bases in nearby countries are used for attacks. Iran also says these countries do not stop the attacks. An Iranian official told the UK Foreign Secretary that these actions will be seen as joining the fight. He said this will be remembered. Iran also said that over 170 children have died. Iran says it has the right to protect its country.

Iran's top leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, recently died. Iran says Israel attacked him on the first day of the war. The new leader, Mujtaba Khamenei, said this was to cause fear. However, he said Iran is united. Air defense systems in the Gulf are being tested. They are good, but their missiles are running low. The drones from Iran are cheaper. This conflict is complicated. It is unlikely to end soon.
