Saudi Arabia Stops Missiles Near Capital

Saudi Arabia’s air defence systems stopped four missiles on Wednesday. These missiles were aimed at the capital city, Riyadh. This shows the growing problems in the Middle East. The region has been unstable for about three weeks. The missiles were destroyed over the western part of Riyadh. This area is near the Diplomatic Quarter. The attacks show a continuing danger from a conflict. This conflict is also affecting world energy markets.

After the attack, Saudi Arabia’s top diplomat warned Iran. He said that patience with these attacks is ending. He also said that Saudi Arabia has the right to respond with force. The Saudi Ministry of Defence said the missiles were destroyed. Some parts fell in the city. However, no one was hurt and there was no damage. Saudi Arabia has stopped many missiles and drones. This is part of their effort to fight attacks.

Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, spoke at a news conference. He said, "Patience is not unlimited." He did not say when Saudi Arabia might act. This showed that Saudi Arabia and its friends are tired of what they see as Iranian attacks. The Minister also said that nearby countries have strong abilities to respond.

These missiles in Riyadh are part of more attacks. Iran is blamed for these attacks. Other energy places in the Gulf have also been hit. Qatar's Ras Laffan gas terminal was damaged. The United Arab Emirates' Habshan gas plant also had damage. These attacks on energy sites seem planned. They make people worry about global energy supplies.

Riyadh held a meeting on Thursday. Arab and Islamic foreign ministers met there. They talked about how to make the region safer. Many countries came to the meeting. They want to stop the growing dangers. They also want to find ways to reduce conflict and bring back peace.
