Iran Labels EU Military Forces as Terrorists

Iran has officially declared the air forces and navies of all EU countries as terrorist groups. This is a strong reaction to the EU's decision to label Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. The new Iranian action happened on Saturday. It makes current sanctions stronger. It also makes relations between the EU and Iran much worse.

Iran's government specifically named the air and naval forces of every EU country. This is similar to how the EU classified the IRGC earlier. The European Council officially made the IRGC a terrorist group on Thursday. Before that, the European Parliament discussed and supported this decision. They said the IRGC was involved in terrorism.

Iran says its action is fair and legal. The Iranian government believes the EU's decision about the IRGC broke UN rules. Iran says it is responding to a clear mistake by European governments. By naming EU military forces, Iran feels it is protecting international law.

The EU's decision against the IRGC means new, strict rules. The IRGC's money and assets in the EU will be frozen. EU companies cannot give money or resources to the IRGC. This EU action is meant to stop the IRGC's activities.

Iran's new classification is important. It is hard to enforce against EU countries' armies. However, it shows how bad relations are. It also makes the sanctions between them much stronger. This will make diplomatic talks harder. It might affect future air and naval activities. A European Parliament member, Geadis Geadi, said this situation is dangerous. It threatens Iran, the region, and the West. The fight over sanctions is now a big problem for international relations.
