Energy World Faces Big Changes

The world's energy situation is complicated now. Demand for energy is growing. Also, countries are changing their relationships. This was discussed at International Energy Week in London. Experts believe we are adding more energy sources, not replacing old ones.

Big technology like data centers and AI needs more power. This affects how companies get supplies and invest money. It is a big change for the whole world.

Many new projects for liquid natural gas (LNG) are approved. By 2030, more LNG will be exported, mostly from the Americas. However, competition for this fuel is high. Cold weather in Europe and Asia recently showed problems with supply. Gas prices went up a lot in Europe. Prices might fall later. This makes it hard to know if new LNG projects will make money.

Big changes are also happening in politics. The United States may have more control over oil from Venezuela. This could change oil prices in the future. The group of oil countries, OPEC+, will keep oil production the same. Middle Eastern oil companies are investing billions. They want to produce more oil and gas. They also want to reduce pollution.

Russia is sending more energy to Asia. They are sending 25% more gas to China this year. This shows that energy is moving to new places. Experts think the energy market is getting tighter. This is different from what some people expected. Because demand is rising, people think we will need oil for longer. Some now think we will need oil until the middle of the 2030s.

An expert said, "We need a strong energy system for the future." We must be careful not to break the old system too soon. The world must balance new climate goals with energy needs. Technology, politics, and the need for energy are creating a new and changing energy market.
