Trump Comments on Chagos Islands and Gaza Base

Former US President Donald Trump has spoken out against a UK-Mauritius agreement about the Chagos Islands. This happens as Trump is also promoting a large military base in Gaza. These actions by Trump have created uncertainty in the Indian Ocean and the Middle East.

Last year, the UK agreed to give the Chagos Islands to Mauritius. However, the UK will rent Diego Garcia island for 99 years. This island has an important UK-US military base. The UK government said the deal is important for their security and allies. Trump said on social media that the UK should not lose this land. His comments came before talks between Washington and Port Louis. This might cause problems for the agreement.

Trump is also involved in another big international plan. The US supports building a large military base in Gaza. This base would be part of an International Stabilization Force (ISF). The goal is to govern Gaza, keep borders safe, and help peace. The UN Security Council reportedly supports this plan. Donald Trump is leading a Board of Peace for this project.

The proposed base in Gaza would be about 350 acres. It would have watchtowers and places for military equipment. Indonesia is ready to send 8,000 troops to the ISF. However, some experts doubt the plan. They say the Board of Peace is not real. Also, the rules for the ISF in fighting are not clear. This raises questions about who is responsible.

Trump's comments on the Chagos Islands could lead to more challenges to the UK's claims. The plan for a military base in Gaza also raises questions about power in the region. It makes people wonder about peace in Palestinian areas. The world will watch how these plans change global politics.
