Japan's Ruling Party Wins Big Election

Japan's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its friends have won a big election. They now have many seats in the House of Representatives. This win means Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi can do her conservative plans. This is different from previous leaders.

The LDP won many seats by itself. It got 316 seats. With its partners, the ruling group has 352 seats. This is a strong position for Takaichi. She became leader a few months ago. This supermajority helps pass laws faster.

Takaichi called a surprise election. It was a smart move. Many people liked her. Her popularity helped the LDP get many votes. This is good for her. Previous leaders had problems. There were scandals and rising prices.

Takaichi promised to help the economy. She proposed a large plan to spend money. She also suggested lowering taxes on food. These ideas were to help people with high prices. Takaichi said they will invest in the economy.

This election win gives Takaichi power. However, her spending plans worry some people. There are questions about Japan's money. People also wonder about her views on China and Taiwan. US President Donald Trump sent congratulations. The other parties won only 113 seats.
