US Allows Nvidia to Sell AI Chips to China

The United States government has reportedly allowed Nvidia to sell its advanced H200 AI chips to some Chinese companies. This is a big change from earlier rules. These rules had made it difficult for China to get powerful AI technology.

For a long time, Chinese AI companies had to use less powerful chips. However, they still created good AI services. They used Nvidia's H20 chips, which are not as strong as the H200. This showed their smarts in making AI work well. For example, the AI model DeepSeek was developed even with these limits.

The H200 chip is very fast. It helps train and run large AI programs. Allowing Chinese companies to buy it could speed up AI development. Before, a lack of strong computer power slowed down new AI projects.

Nigel Green, the CEO of deVere Group, said this decision is important. He explained that it will change how fast AI can grow. He also said that Chinese AI developers showed they could still make progress. However, better chips will now make them faster.

This change might mean Chinese AI companies can develop AI systems more quickly. It could also lower the cost of creating new AI. This will make them stronger competitors against other big AI companies. Investors are now looking at how this will affect the global AI market.
