Limassol Carnival Returns with New Excitement and Safety Focus

Limassol is getting ready for a fun carnival from February 12th to February 22nd. The city has planned many events. These events will show the history and culture of the carnival. At the same time, there is an important safety campaign for carnival items across the country. This year, a TV show called ‘My Aphrodite’ will film during the big parade. This will show the carnival to people all over the world.

Mayor Yiannis Armeftis is very happy. He said the Limassol Carnival is now more exciting. The city wants to make the traditional parts even better. People can look forward to colourful floats. They will also see funny masks called "pellomaska". Handmade costumes will be on display. There will be lively dances too. The theme this year is 'Limassol madness'. This means a lot of fun and joy.

A safety campaign started on February 5th and ends on February 11th. This campaign checks carnival toys and costumes. Over 55 shops in Cyprus are being inspected. The goal is to make sure everything is safe. The Consumer Protection Service offers advice on its website. This helps people buy safe toys. The carnival will be both fun and safe for everyone.

The TV show ‘My Aphrodite’ will film on February 22nd during the grand parade. This will show the Limassol Carnival to a worldwide audience. It is a great chance for the city to be seen. The music for the carnival will be a Greek song called “Life is a Carnival.” The new Carnival Queen, Amaryllis Kyriakou, is ready to help. She wants to make this carnival unforgettable. Limassol's carnival will be a great mix of culture, safety, and international interest.
