Hope for Larnaca Marina Project

New hope has appeared for Larnaca's marina and port project. The Minister of Transport met with local officials recently. This meeting aimed to find quick actions for the project. However, the project still faces problems and delays. This makes people in the community feel urgent.

The project has been stopped for a long time. This caused worry because the government ended its contract with Kition Ocean Holdings. This led to problems. Local leaders asked the government for clear plans. They want to know exactly when things will happen. Discussions now focus on important tasks. These include cleaning the marina and finding a company for the nautical club. A company called Prosperity Group has made a proposal. This company may be connected to the old contractor.

Minister Alexis Vafeades met Mayor Andreas Vyras and Municipal President Nakis Antoniou. They all agreed to speed up the project. Minister Vafeades said, "We want to move forward." He also said, "We share the anxiety of the local community." Mayor Vyras agreed. He said, "Larnaca cannot wait any longer for this project."

Some important steps are now happening. Cleaning the marina should finish this month. This is good progress. Also, the steps to find a company for the nautical club are ready. The government will share a timetable for future actions. This includes looking at the Prosperity Group's proposal.

Experts from other countries will study the project. Their report is expected soon. This study will help make important decisions. After the report, the government will talk to the community. They want to include people's ideas and economic needs. The Prosperity Group's proposal is important. Its legal and financial aspects are being checked. This, with the expert study, will decide the project's future. People hope these efforts will finally start the project.
