Two Serious Car Accidents on Cyprus Motorways

Two bad car accidents happened on Wednesday. One was on the Nicosia-Larnaca road. The other was on the Limassol-Paphos road last night. These accidents caused serious injuries. They also made traffic very slow on important roads. Police are investigating why these accidents happened. They remind us that driving fast can be dangerous.

The first crash was on the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway. It happened in the afternoon near Pera Chorio. A car going to Larnaca left its lane. Police think the driver lost control of the car. It hit the motorway barriers. Emergency teams went to help. The driver was taken to the hospital. The accident caused a lot of traffic delays for many people. Police are still trying to find out why the driver lost control.

A more serious accident happened on the Limassol-Paphos motorway. It was just before midnight. A 30-year-old man was driving towards Limassol. He lost control of his car near the Erimi exit. The car went off the road and hit a metal barrier very hard. The driver was very badly hurt. Firefighters had to cut him out of the car. Paramedics gave him help and took him to the hospital. He is in very serious condition. He has had to have both legs amputated.

Police are investigating the second accident. They are looking at speed and road conditions. They also want to check if the car had any problems. They want to understand exactly what happened. These accidents show how important it is to drive carefully. Following traffic rules is also very important. People need to remember to be safe on the roads.
