Woman Gets Six Years for Cocaine Smuggling

A 24-year-old woman has been sentenced to six years in prison. A court in Larnaca decided this after she was found guilty. She imported a lot of cocaine into Cyprus. This happened after a long investigation. It started last October. Police got important information about drugs.

The woman arrived at Larnaca airport on October 21st. She was on an international flight. Police had information beforehand. They stopped her for a check. They found 540 grams of cocaine. It was hidden in her bags. However, they did not find all the drugs then.

More checks were needed. These included medical tests. They found more drugs inside her. She was taken to the hospital. She stayed there until October 28th. During this time, she expelled 35 more packets. These contained another 350 grams of cocaine.

In total, police found 890 grams of cocaine. This is a large amount. It shows she was trying to sell the drugs. She was kept in prison during the investigation. The court heard all the evidence.

The court said drug smuggling is very serious. It hurts society a lot. The six-year sentence shows the court's strong position. Importing illegal drugs is dangerous. This case reminds us about border checks. Cyprus authorities work hard to stop drug smuggling. The woman was likely a key person. This was probably part of a bigger plan.
