Trump's Actions Cause Worry at Davos

US President Donald Trump was a big topic at the World Economic Forum. His strong words made many people worry about global trade. President Trump made some surprising statements. He said he might put big taxes on goods from some European countries. This was because he wants to buy Greenland. This is changing how America and Europe work together. It also makes people question the world's rules.

New taxes could affect Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, and the United Kingdom. These taxes might start on February 1st. This is because President Trump thinks the US should be able to buy Greenland. The European Union is thinking about its own taxes on US products. This could be worth about €93 billion. Nigel Green said Greenland is very important. It is important for politics, safety, and money. He said world leaders cannot ignore it. Experts and investors are worried about the economy.

President Trump also did not invite Canada to a new group called the "Board of Peace." This group will help with Gaza. The US President will lead it. Members must give $1 billion. Trump announced Canada's removal on social media. This is not a normal way to do things. Mark Carney from Canada said they need money for their own projects. Carney said this shows a big change in how the world works.

In the US, Congress is discussing the President's power in wars. The House of Representatives did not vote to stop President Trump from sending troops to Venezuela. The vote was very close. This shows disagreement in Congress. It also shows problems for House Speaker Mike Johnson. Before this, there were reports of US troops capturing Venezuela's President. This happened without Congress knowing. The US government says no troops are in Venezuela now. They also say they will ask Congress for big military actions. However, the House's vote means more people are questioning the President's actions. The Senate is also looking at a similar vote. Two Republicans agreed with Democrats on the Venezuela vote. This shows some worry about the government's foreign policy.
