For the second year, the historic city of Paphos in Cyprus is the most popular place for visitors from Poland. New tourism numbers show this clear choice. It shows a big change in how people travel, mainly because there are now many more flights.
The data from last summer is very clear. Almost half of all Polish tourists in Cyprus went to Paphos. This large number shows how much Polish people like the city. The main reason for this is the big increase in flights. Now, there are up to twenty flights every week from Paphos to six different cities in Poland. This is the highest number in thirty years.
The budget airline Ryanair made this change happen. It offers most of these flights. Ryanair’s direct, cheap, and frequent flights have made travelling to Paphos much easier for Polish people. Because of this, Poland has become a very important market for tourism in Paphos.
Tourism officials are now working with this trend. They want Polish people to visit all year, not only in summer. They are telling travel agents in Poland about Paphos’s good points for winter trips. They talk about the warmer winter weather, ancient history, and culture. They hope this will bring more visitors in the quieter seasons, which helps the local economy.
This situation is very good for Paphos. It helps hotels and businesses have more stable money through the year. It also makes the tourism connection between Cyprus and Poland stronger. Paphos shows how better flight connections can really change a city’s tourism.
