Man Dies After Car Swerves in Limassol

A sad car accident happened in Limassol on Thursday. A 63-year-old man died after his car hit another vehicle. The crash involved a saloon car and a pickup truck. Police are studying the accident very carefully. They think a health problem might have caused the car to swerve.

The man was George Michael from Zakaki. He was driving his saloon car north. Police reports say his car suddenly moved into the other lane. Then, it hit a pickup truck coming from the opposite direction. The pickup truck driver was 70 years old. The impact was very strong. Mr. Michael was unconscious after the crash.

Emergency teams came to the scene quickly. An ambulance took Mr. Michael to the hospital. Sadly, he was later confirmed dead. Police are looking into all possible reasons for the crash. Marios Charalambous, the head of Limassol traffic police, said a medical problem is a main idea. However, they are still checking other causes too.

A medical examination will happen on Friday. This will help find the exact reason for his death. Doctors will see if he had a medical issue, like a heart attack. This could have made him lose control of his car. Witnesses did not say the car was going too fast. This makes the medical cause more likely.

Police are also watching camera videos from the area. They hope the videos will show what happened before the crash. They want to understand the accident better. The fact that Mr. Michael wore his seatbelt is also being noted. The accident was a serious side-frontal impact. It shows how dangerous roads can be. The pickup truck driver was not badly hurt. This accident has made the community sad. Police want to complete their investigation fully.
