Leaders Meet to Boost Economy in Northern Cyprus

Leaders from Northern Cyprus and Turkey met this week in Nicosia. President Tufan Erhürman spoke with Turkey’s Trade Minister, Ömer Bolat. They discussed ways to improve the economy in Northern Cyprus. This meeting showed Turkey's strong support.

The talks focused on working together more closely. Both sides want to find ways for the economy to grow. Minister Bolat said Turkey wants to help Northern Cyprus become stronger. He explained that a main goal is to help Northern Cyprus sell more goods to other countries. This will help it connect with the world market.

Many important people were at the meetings. From Northern Cyprus, President Erhürman, the Finance Minister, and the Economy Minister were there. The Turkish group included Ambassador Ali Murat Başçeri and other officials. This shows the talks were very important.

Turkey wants to make the economy of Northern Cyprus better. This is important as Northern Cyprus tries to find new business ideas. Turkey will likely offer more help. They may start new projects together. Minister Bolat said, "We are working closely with the TRNC Ministries." He also said, "Our main goal is to strengthen the TRNC's economy." Both sides want to see the economy grow.
