Cyprus Faces Unpredictable Weather

Cyprus is changing from cold weather to unpredictable conditions. The weather department has warned about strong winds, dust, rain, and thunderstorms. A low-pressure system is coming to the island. This has already made roads dangerous, especially in the mountains. Police are asking people to be careful.

The week started with very cold weather. On Tuesday, temperatures dropped a lot. It was -8°C in the Troodos mountains. Inland areas were only 1°C. This was much colder than usual. Daytime temperatures were only 12°C inland. Coastal areas were 14°C. This cold period was a sign of changes to come.

The weather will become more active this week. Wednesday will be cloudy with strong winds. There might be showers at night. Temperatures will go down inland, possibly with frost in high areas.

Thursday will have more weather events. There will be dust in the air. Then, it will rain in some places. Thunderstorms are also possible. Winds will be strong from the northeast. This shows the weather is changing quickly.

On Friday, temperatures might get a little better. They could be closer to normal. However, the weather will still be unsettled. Rain and thunderstorms are still possible.

The weekend will have more bad weather. Saturday could be very active. There will be clouds and storms. The Troodos mountains might even get more snow. This will make conditions difficult.

The mountains are already affected by the weather. Landslides of stones and soil are happening. Frost on the roads is also dangerous. Some roads are very risky for drivers. Police are warning everyone to be very careful in these areas. The change from cold to wind, rain, and storms shows how Cyprus weather can change. It is important to listen to weather warnings.
