Two High-Speed Trains Crash in Spain

A terrible accident happened with two fast trains in southern Spain. It was on Sunday evening. Sadly, many people died. Many others were hurt. The accident was near a town called Adamuz. Emergency services are working hard. An investigation has started. People in Spain are very sad about this event.

One train was going north from Malaga to Madrid. It left the tracks. Then it went onto another track. It hit another train coming from Madrid to Huelva. The first train had about 300 people. The second train had about 200 people. The second train could not stop.

Emergency workers said 21 people died. More than 30 people are badly hurt. They are in the hospital. Over 70 people in total were injured. Many ambulances and medical teams came quickly. They worked all night to help people.

The Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, said it was a sad night. The Transport Minister, Oscar Puente, was confused. He said the train crashed on a straight part of the track. This part was new. He called it "strange." This makes the investigation important.

The train company, ADIF, is helping the police. They do not know the exact reason for the crash yet. It might take another month. Right now, they are helping the people who were hurt. They are also helping the families. This sad event reminds us that train travel has risks. Safety is very important.
