Larnaca Prepares for 2030 Culture Title

Larnaca is working hard to become the European Capital of Culture in 2030. The team is building its structure. They are also finding people for a big cultural plan. This project will cost €27 million. The current team of four people needs to grow quickly. The Artistic Director, Kelly Diapouli, said more staff are needed now.

The city is hiring important leaders for this cultural centre. They need a General Director and a Communications Manager. Applications are due soon, by January 30th. The main leaders should be chosen by the end of March. This hiring is important for the project's success. The Deputy Ministry of Culture must approve the plan. Then, the European Commission and Parliament will be told. This is needed for money.

Larnaca 2030 has already found money from two European groups. One group supports an art project. It will connect artists from different countries with local people. This project will happen in Tsiakkilero and Agioi Anargyroi. It aims to bring art into daily life. Another group helps artists with their rights. This shows a commitment to the arts.

The budget for Larnaca 2030 is €27 million. Money will come from many places. The Deputy Ministry of Culture will give €10 million. The Larnaca Municipality will give €7.5 million. The Provincial Organisation will give €2 million. They also hope for €3.5 million from sponsors. They expect €2 million from European projects. Another €1.5 million from the EU is expected later.

Larnaca will also be a place for European culture. A big conference will happen in May. It will bring together people from other Culture Capitals. They will share ideas. In April, artists will meet to talk. This will help the local arts. A special event will thank artists already working on Larnaca 2030. The year 2030 is getting closer.
