Charity Races Coming to Nicosia

Nicosia is getting ready for big charity running races. They will happen on Sunday, January 18, 2026. The races will help raise money for a good cause. Because of the races, some roads in the city center will be closed. This will be from early morning until early afternoon. People should learn about the changes to avoid problems.

These popular races are a regular event in the city. Many people will run through the historic center. To keep everyone safe, many central roads will be closed to cars. This will happen from 5:45 AM to 1:00 PM. About twenty streets and public areas will be affected.

Some main streets like Rigenis Street and Pafos Street will be closed. Markos Drakos Square will also have less traffic. Parts of Georgiou Griva Dighenis Avenue will have lane closures. These closures are to make space for the runners. Homer Avenue and Stasinos Avenue will also have temporary restrictions.

The Cyprus Police will manage the traffic. Officers will help drivers find new routes. Drivers should watch for signs and follow directions. This will help keep runners safe and reduce traffic jams. More information is on the Nicosia Marathon website.

We know drivers might have some trouble. However, the main goal is to bring people together. The money raised will help important projects. The success of the races needs everyone's help. It is a good idea to use public transport or plan travel differently.
