Ukraine and Russia Attack Each Other's Important Targets

In a major event at sea, Ukrainian forces have successfully attacked two Russian oil ships in the Black Sea. They used special naval drones, which are like remote-controlled boats filled with explosives. The attacks happened over the weekend. Ukraine says it did this to damage Russia’s ability to make money from oil, which helps pay for its war.

However, Russia quickly responded with a very strong attack of its own. It launched a huge number of missiles and drones against Ukraine. These weapons hit important energy buildings and even homes. At least three civilians were killed, and hundreds of thousands of people lost electricity.

The ship attacks happened near the coast of Turkey. Video from the internet shows the Ukrainian drones exploding when they hit the Russian ships, causing fires. Luckily, no sailors were killed. The goal was to hurt Russia’s secret system for selling oil despite Western sanctions.

At the same time, Russia’s big air attack focused on the area around the capital, Kyiv. Ukraine’s air defense shot down most of the Russian missiles and drones, but some still got through. A 13-year-old child was among the many people injured. Repair teams worked hard to bring back power for over 360,000 homes.

These events show how the war is changing. Ukraine is now strong enough to attack Russian ships, which hurts Russia's economy. In return, Russia attacks Ukraine’s energy system. This new phase of the war is making life very difficult for civilians.
