Lawmakers in Cyprus are talking about new laws. These laws will change how people from other countries buy houses. This is important for safety. The government also wants to limit foreign money in key places. They are working quickly.

Old laws are not strong. Many foreign buyers can buy easily. Lawmakers want better rules. Akel leader Stefanos Stefanou said many foreigners want homes near airports and army camps. They also like homes near the sea.

Some areas have very expensive homes. The Akamas area has nice homes. They cost more than €646,000. Paphos and Geroskipou also had costly sales.

Other areas have cheaper homes. Larnaca and Nicosia had many sales. Limassol district got the most money. It was over €737 million.

Larnaca district has homes for €200,000 to €220,000. The new laws will be ready by summer. Lawmakers hope to vote before elections in May.
